A Victorian silver plate pattern called Shell was introduced in 1860 by Rogers Bros.
Several slight variations occur within the basic shell motif as this style was made over many years.
Although all are quite similar, some have more noticeable variations.
If you wish to match exactly a style you already own, please pay particular attention to the closeup pattern images, the size, and the height in millimeters of the shell design before ordering.

The Shell pattern silverplated flatware is over 100 years old. It has retained the plate remarkably well with hardly any loss to most pieces. There are, however, scratches and minor nicks from normal usage.
All pieces are solid, not hollow. The blunt knives have silverplated blades as stainless steel blades were not yet in use when these were made.
Please Note: The Shell 1860 pattern differs from many other patterns named Shell in that the shell design appears both at the top and bottom of the handles.
